A rising Vietnamese-Australian pianist will perform at HCMC Conservatory of Music next Sunday, January 27.

The 21-year-old musician, Van Anh, will play pieces by Mozart and Chopin at the event co-organized by the Australian Consulate-General.

Anh, whose performance next week is her third in HCMC, was accepted into the Young Artists Program for Gifted and Talented Musicians at the Sydney Conservatorium at the age of four.

She became the first Vietnamese to play piano at the Sydney Opera House, playing there when she was 11.

In 2003, she was a prizewinner at the Vienna International Pianists Summer Festival in Austria.

Anh continued her success in several eisteddfods and competitions around Sydney.

She was NSW State Finalist in the Yamaha Youth Piano Competition in 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 and won the 2007 Kawai Open Piano Award.

Anh has toured across Australia, Germany, Austria, the United States, Taiwan and Vietnam.
