Halong Bay - The world heritage siteSituated in the North-East region (Quang Ninh province) of Vietnam, Halong Bay is a bay in the Gulf of Tonkin comprised of regions of Halong City, the township of Cam Pha, and a part of the island district of Van Don. Halong Bay borders Cat Ba Island in the southwest, the East Sea in the east, and the mainland, creating a 120 km coastline.
Halong Bay is made up of 1,969 islands of various sizes, 989 of which have been given names. There are two kinds of islands, limestone and schist, which are concentrated in two main zones: the southeast (belonging to Bai Tu Long Bay), and the southwest (belonging to Halong Bay). This densely concentrated zone of stone islands, world famous for its spectacular scenery of grottoes and caves, forms the central zone of Halong Bay, which has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Trekking – Kayaking – SnorkelingDay 1: Hanoi- Halong Bay (-, L, D)AM: Pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Halong Bay (170km). Stop over at ceramic and hand embroidery workshops in Haiduong. Arrive in Halong Bay, embark a wooden boat for a cruiser in Halong Bay.
PM: Visit some magical grottoes: Sung Sot cave, Titop beach, the fish- farm and then stop for a swim, kayak, visit Luon Cave, the islands…Lunch and dinner of fresh seafood are served on board. O/N on boat in Halong Bay.
Day 2: Halong Bay- Cat Ba Island- Lan Ha Bay (Trekking – Kayaking) (B, L, D)AM: After breakfast, cruise to Gia Luan wharf. Take a car for visiting Cat Ba Island. Arrive at Lien Minh village, trekking (3 hours) to visit Lien Minh village, garden fruit, exploring the agriculture, the daily life…enjoy the beauty of countryside, taking photos and then transfer to hotel.
PM: The bus takes you to Beo wharf, take a boat to explore Lan Ha Bay. Kayaking to visit Tai Keo Cave, some beached…Swimming at nature beach. Then back to hotel. Free time for relax. O/N at Cat Ba island.
Day 3: Cat Ba Island- Halong Bay- Hanoi (B, L, -)AM: after breakfast, take a bus to Gia Luan wharf and take a boat back to Halong Bay. On the way, stop over for swimming, snorkeling, taking photos and enjoy the beautiful of Halong Bay.
PM: After lunch of fresh seafood is served in restaurant in Halong. Return to Hanoi. Tour finishes.
